Glen and Tracy Hill operate a fishing and processing
business in Meningie, South Australia. They bring their daily catch
home from the Coorong, one of the most beautiful wilderness areas
in Australia. It is a family business and they also employ several
local people.
The Coorong Fisherman only fish to order to ensure
the produce is fresh. They ensure it gets to their customers at it's
freshest and tastiest.
The business has been running since 1991 and they
supply supermarkets, butchers, fish shops and hotels in the Adelaide
Hills, Barossa Valley, Murray Mallee and Southeast areas. They are
now involved in promoting the region’s fish to the major tourist
centres around the state and soon, interstate.
Coorong Mullet is the most reliable and popular
fish from the region. They are easy to prepare and quick to cook,
ideal for frying, grilling, barbecue, or steaming. They can be tossed
in a seasoning, crumbed, battered, pickled, smoked or just as they
are.
The mullet fillets are a finless, boneless butterfly
and ready for most recipes. High in Omega 3 and value for money, Coorong
Mullet are great for families and people of all ages.
Currently they attend the Barossa Farmers Market
in Angaston on the First Saturday in the month.
